Gift of Time

Hey everyone! I finally uploaded these pictures. It's from the Hermes exhibition - sorry I couldn't be bothered about the little thing above the e.

Anyway, this was from about 10, 11 days ago I suppose?
It's called the Gift of Time exhibition, and I found out about it from Wendy! Thanks Wendy!
It was put up by Hermes to showcase the, well, gift of time, and of course to advertise their products subtly as well.
I really liked a few rooms. Basically, the exhibit consists of 7 rooms and you can walk around these rooms and they give you this little drawstring satchel to put your mobile devices like handphones inside, in order to fully appreciate the exhibit and not get caught up with time and social platforms and all.

This is really cool! I wish I were a little rich princess then I could learn horseback riding and be an equestrian hahahaha. Don't you think it's just so fun?!

Unfortunately I'll have to leave my dreams to remain as dreams because horseback riding is expensive!

They even meticulously included the stamping of hooves/horseshoes in the sand print! Haha

Isn't it beautiful though

This just reminded me of Alice in Wonderland - it;s just bizarre and out of place yet everything fits.
now I'm thinking of the un-birthday party in the story!

This was really cool! See the cat at the back? It looks so pixellated because it's actually made by little cut out squares of leather!
Because the exhibit would be moving to various countries, the point of the cat made from leather is this quirky reason the host in the room was explaining, which went something like...
er..
.
.
.

Damn I can't remember.
I know the reason vaguely...
The cat is actually a door. You push the cat (the leather pieces) to go to the next room.
So, leather develops this thing called "patina" over time and wear.
Patina, according to leatherhelp.com, is
"the sheen on any surface preduced by age and use."
"Darkening, shining and scratches are all common signs of leather patina."

In short, it's like the distressed look on a leather bomber jacket or the look a leather armchair gets when it's broken in.

So we were encouraged by the host in the room to touch the leather to help it produce its patina, and in a weird sort of way, contribute to it and er, as the exhibit moves from country to country, it brings a little bit of us.

I started stroking the cat on its left btw

And nobody else bothered except to push it to go to the next room

Heartless!

Oh the next room was this^ which was a dark room and the swirly stuff in the fishbowl was projected on the ceilings with a light, which made cool effects.

I can't remember much about this room as I was too busy being entranced by the shimmering and plus I was sitting on the comfiest sofa ever

Here's the last room which reminded me immediately of this map in Ellinia (Maple Story), "The Tree That Grew I (/II/III...)" I'm not sure if the current Maple still has it because er I'm like old and my era of Maple is the one where being level 54 is very cool and all.
I tried playing it again last year during the SP AEM era but ahhhh meh
Old dogs can't learn new tricks

LOL

Hi little green plant in the middle of nowhere

And here's the weird picture of me looking like I'm acting cool when I'm not
Oh dangling around my neck is the drawstring back that they gave

Posing awkwardly like a tourist

Here's the inside of the hall of, if you didn't already infer from the previous pictures, Tanjong Pagar Railway.
It was closed, but recently only opened for this exhibition.
If I'm not wrong, it's closed again.

And tada! Here's a picture of who I went to the exhibit with

Not that it's much of a surprise I guess

Not sure why we are looking at somewhere over the hermes logo

Then we escaped to Raflles... something to seek relief from the scorching sun, which meant... ICE CREAM!
We had B&J's Clusterfluff and I like it
And that was about all for that day!

When the door was closed
The room was bright and toasty
When the door opened
A draft of cold wind blew in, frosty
And
Pungent smells of reality rushed in
